Rise and Shine with one of these lovely sun face mugs, made in small batches with draycott white stoneware clay from potclays. Wheel thrown and when leather hard a handle is attached and the sun faces are illustrated on the body of the mug - one on either side. I use underglaze and slips to illustrated the sun faces.
The mugs are then bisque fired, and then I glaze the mugs in a white glaze carefully blocking out the faces with wax resist. They are then high fired to 1270 degrees which vitrifies the clay and turns the glaze into a lovely shiny protective layer which ensures the mugs are good to enjoy lots of cups of tea and coffee out of.
Measuring 9cm high and 9.5cm in diameter.
Sent in lots of protective wrapping and packaging which is both biodegradable and recyclable with a Royal Mail tracked service.
