Wheel thrown shade and plate which fit on to each other. A candle is placed on the plate and the shade fits over allowing the candle light to come through the top and the holes which have been carved out of the shade. Relief birds have been added to create a sense of depth. High fired to 1270 degrees, I’ve used underglaze for the birds and a Matt dolomite on the outside and soft shiny porcelain yellow glaze on the inside.
