Small bowl, wheel thrown and turned. With hand painted flower detail in the inside of the bowl, using a paper resist method to block out shapes. Which gives this bowl a lovely illustrated finish. The bowl has been fired with a Gas reduction firing. The temperatures of a gas fired reduction kiln may exceed 2300F, when the glazes melt and mature. The effects are interesting with the clay being exposed to high temperatures speckling occurs if the clays has any iron in it. This bowl was dipped in a clear glaze which has turned a lovey soft blue in the gas kiln.
Measures 6cm high and 15.5cm in diameter.
